1. What is RFID?
RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is a contactless automatic identification technology that uses radio waves to enable data communication between a reader and an electronic tag. It can accurately identify targets without physical contact and is widely used in identity recognition, anti-counterfeiting and traceability, access control management, and logistics tracking.
The operating frequency bands include Low Frequency (125kHz), High Frequency (13.56MHz), Ultra-High Frequency (860MHz-915MHz), and Microwave.
2. System Composition and Working Principle
Core Components:
Electronic Tag: Stores unique identification information, and can be passive (powered by the reader), active (with built-in battery), or semi-active.
Reader: Generates the RF field, reads/writes tag data, and communicates with the host via an interface.
Antenna: Responsible for transmitting and receiving RF energy, acting as the bridge between the reader and the tag.
Host System: Receives data, processes it, stores it, and integrates business logic.
Working Process: The reader emits RF signals → the tag is activated and returns data → the reader receives, demodulates, and transmits to the host for processing.
3. Technical Features and Application Areas
Technical Advantages: Contactless identification, can penetrate harsh environments such as snow, fog, and dust.
Supports simultaneous identification of multiple targets, with fast read speed (typically less than 100 milliseconds).
Waterproof, anti-magnetic, high-temperature resistant, data can be encrypted, and storage capacity is large.
4. Application Scenarios:
Logistics and warehousing, retail management, toll collection (e.g., ETC).
Access control and security, asset management, industrial automation, healthcare.
