I. Project Background
Medicines are special products, primarily used to treat and save lives. The issues of 'difficulty and high cost of seeing a doctor' are frequently mentioned in various meetings, and pharmaceutical reform has drawn much attention. The focus is on inflated drug prices. In this high-profit, forced-consumption market, counterfeit drugs are the enemy of manufacturers and also make consumers fearful when purchasing. What anti-counterfeiting methods to adopt and how to eliminate counterfeit drugs are major topics continuously discussed in the pharmaceutical industry.
II. Project Goals
1) Tracking of the pharmaceutical supply process
The system can record and track the operation of pharmaceutical products in real time, accurately and completely, comprehensively and efficiently strengthening management from production, transportation to sales, and providing functions such as query, statistics, and data analysis.2) Effective anti-counterfeiting function
During pharmaceutical sales, because the packaging cannot be opened on the spot to check authenticity, it provides opportunities for counterfeiters. However, by reading the data in the attached electronic tag, information such as 'place of origin, year, date of manufacture, ingredients, etc.' can be clearly known, achieving pharmaceutical anti-counterfeiting identification.3) Pharmaceutical warehouse management
Attach electronic tags to each bottle of medicine to record placement location, product category, date, and other data. Based on the unique code of each product, the status of goods and pharmaceutical quality can be monitored at any time for warehouse management, and items needing replenishment can be immediately identified for shortage management. For returns or exchanges, simply import the data into the system to modify records.III. System Architecture
Using RFID technology to build a pharmaceutical RFID supply chain information platform enables real-time tracking and supervision of drugs during production, distribution, and retail. Due to the technical characteristics of RFID electronic tags such as 'large storage capacity, fast transmission speed, non-counterfeitable, and concurrent identification', with the support of the supply chain platform database, by attaching RFID electronic tags to individual pharmaceutical products, the supply chain information related to the drugs can be reliably and real-timely recorded within the tags, thereby enabling real-time pharmaceutical supply chain supervision.
Key supply chain data traceable: from drug出厂, then the supply chain process experienced, finally reaching patients through retailers or hospitals.
Using RFID pharmaceutical anti-counterfeiting technology can 'prevent counterfeit products from entering the sales market, control product quality, supervise sales personnel, formulate reasonable service strategies, strengthen market control management, guide product design positioning, and improve the timeliness of business decisions.'
IV. Solution Operation Flow
The adoption of RFID technology will optimize all aspects of pharmaceutical product production, distribution, and sales, obtaining accurate information flow in real time, improving monitoring during circulation, effectively achieving anti-counterfeiting, and curbing counterfeit drugs from entering the market.
Anti-counterfeiting query and sales management
1) Dealers and retailers equipped with handheld devices to verify drug authenticity
Pharmaceutical sales are the most critical part of anti-counterfeiting. Most counterfeit drugs enter pharmaceutical circulation through loopholes in the sales process. It can be stipulated that pharmaceutical dealers must be equipped with handheld devices to inspect incoming drugs to ensure no counterfeit drugs are mixed in. High-end drugs are often sold through large shopping malls, supermarkets, specialty stores, etc. It is recommended that retailers also be equipped (which can be rented) with handheld devices to verify authenticity. When consumers purchase, they have the right to ask retailers to use handheld devices to check on the spot. If data can be read successfully, it indicates genuine drugs; if the data in the tag cannot be read, consumers can refuse to purchase.
2) Establishing a pharmaceutical query institution
The electronic tag data processed by the reader will be recorded in the server, and the data processing system is linked to the web query system. Dealers, retailers, or drug purchasers can query the ID number of the electronic tag through the communication network to verify the authenticity of the drug.
